Alexandre Barco Martelo

Alexandre Barco Martelo received both his B.Sc and M.Sc degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the Engineering School of La Salle - Ramon Llull University of Barcelona, Spain, in 2008 and 2010 respectively. His research interests are Robotics, Social Robotics, Educational Robotics, Therapeutical Robotics and Service Robotics, so Caring Robots in general. And related with robotics, children with special needs as can be autistic children and children with brain trauma injuries. He is teaching Robotics & Control Systems, and Educational Robotics at MUFP (High School Teacher Training Master).

Marcel Heerink

Dr. Marcel Heerink is an associate professor at Windesheim Flevoland University of Applied Sciences in Almere, The Netherlands and at LaSalle University in Barcelona/Almere. He initiates and leads projects on social robots in care and education, studies relationships between humans and robots and explores ethical and philosophical issues.
